Red Light Therapy + Infrared Salt Sauna = A Total Health Intervention

Some things just go better together. Like, beach volleyball and Top Gun pilots, tacos and Tuesdays, and Alicia Keys and a piano. Each incredible in their own right, but even more brilliant when they’re paired together.

And when we talk about the healing miracle of red light therapy, there’s only one thing that’s even better; red light therapy followed up with infrared salt sauna for a one-two punch that totally disrupts your health care rut and lowers your biological age at the same time.

Let’s look at how they work separately from each other to understand why pairing them together is even more potent.

How Does Red Light Therapy Work?

At CryoWellness.Fit, you experience a 10-minute treatment lying down inside a unit or standing in a tower, whichever you prefer. While wearing protective eyewear, red light wavelengths are emitted throughout the unit.

These wavelengths penetrate the skin, activating the fibroblast cells, which are responsible for the production of collagen and elastin proteins that provide strength and elasticity in skin tissue.

As the cells in your body begin to repair themselves as a result of this energetic response, recovery time of injuries and surgeries speeds up, the pain caused by inflammatory illnesses drops, and skin vitality is restored.

What are the benefits of red light therapy?

  • Reduces fine lines, deep wrinkles, and large pores

  • Repairs scars and stretch marks, making them less noticeable

  • Promotes elastin and collagen production, which firms, tones, and smooths skin

  • Improves skin tone and clarity, which also benefits rosacea and acne-prone skin

  • Fades age spots and irregular pigmentation

  • Improves circulation to aid in tissue repair, reduce inflammation and alleviate pain

  • Speeds up recovery time of injuries and surgeries by at least 50%

Keep these anti-inflammatory and reparative collagen effects in mind specifically as we learn the benefits of infrared salt saunas.

How do infrared saunas work?

Infrared saunas use infrared light to heat your body from within to raise your core temperature, while traditional hot box saunas simply heat the air around you. Infrared saunas use infrared lamps to emit near, mid, and far-infrared waves causing your body to mimic a fever, which activates your immune system to combat any offending infection or disease that may be lurking inside.

The sauna’s lower temperature and ability to penetrate deep tissue can generate a more active sweat. This increases circulation and delivery of oxygen throughout the body, including skin.

A typical session can last 15-45 minutes and should end when your body feels comfortably hot and relaxed, but not as long as feeling symptoms of heat exhaustion.

What are the benefits of infrared saunas?

  • The only sauna types that mimic a fever in the body, which is a natural defense to expel bacteria and toxins for improved immune health

  • Regular use of infrared sauna minimizes the risk of heart disease

  • Physiological response mimics a moderate workout by increasing blood flow and heart rate

  • Improved circulation provides pain relief, relaxes muscle tension, and repairs tissue

  • Relaxation time reduces stress and anxiety and aids in quality sleep

  • Eliminating toxins strengthens immune system response for better overall health

  • Rejuvenates skin tone and enhances clarity, providing an anti-aging effect

  • Boosts weight loss efforts

An unstoppable pair of therapies in your wellness journey.

What happens when you use an infrared salt sauna directly after red light therapy?

A red light therapy session primes your body for infrared salt sauna, which accelerates the positive effects of both when you experience them back-to-back; even more so than separately.

By increasing your core body temperature from the energetic response of red light therapy, your body is ready to sweat immediately, allowing for a more efficient infrared sauna session. And the activated proteins in your cells are ready to heal what’s being released.

So much happens right now in your body! Circulation is flowing, deeply stored toxins are being released, you’re breathing immune-boosting minerals from Himalayan salt cubes, and the heat generated from inside your body naturally eases pain levels and promotes relaxation.

Drink plenty of water after your session to help lower your core body temperature, hydrate, and continue flushing the toxins that you purged. Taking a shower or bath about an hour after the infrared sauna is ideal to wash away everything from the surface of your skin so it’s not reabsorbed the next time your pores open.

Release toxins and tension. Reduce inflammation. Increase oxygen, collagen, and healing. All in as little as 25-45 minutes.
